Proper Use and Maintenance 
Every dehumidifier needs proper usage and maintenance to support its long-lasting capability. Here are some safety tips in using and maintaining it:
• Before using it, keep it steady in an upright position for about 30 minutes to allow the refrigerant and other internal components to settle
• If the unit is newly delivered, let it settle for about 12 hours before using it
• Make sure that your desired area is well-sealed by either shutting all windows, vents, or using other barriers
• It must be connected to a grounded electric source to avoid accidents and damage
• Make sure you have the right power supply to avoid electrical issues
• It is not suggestible to use an extension cord as well as a power adaptor
• Use the control panel or remote to set your desired level of humidity 
• The surface in which it is set to operate must be leveled and steady
• Do not position the discharge and inlet onto a wall
• Never tamper on the internal components while the unit is running
• Always maintain a 6ft. distance from any form of obstruction
• Avoid deploying it in areas with high amounts of corrosive materials
• Make sure to properly unplug it before deploying it to another area
• Never leave it plugged when not in use
• When cleaning, use a damp cloth dipped in mild soap solution in wiping its exterior
• Remember to check the inlet and outlet for any blockages
• Annually check-up the coils for maintenance
• You may use a foaming coil cleanser for cleaning the coils
• Confirm that the cords are cleaned from any debris and is properly wrapped and secured for storage

Boy, I really wanted this to work...DRAT! I took delivery of an HDi65 w/ pump. I live on a 48-ft boat in San Francisco. My boat is somewhere between 600-800 sq feet and I wanted to dry out after all the rain we have had (my previous Haier dehumidifier broke down). At first, it appeared to be a great machine, smooth running. However, after 4 days of continuous use, I see that I made a mistake. 1) These Alorair dehumidifiers donot work well in cool temps (under 65F). The coil never seemed to get that cold and the air never really felt dry (never got below 50% Relative Humidity). I wanted everything to DRY out, not normalize at 50% RH. (Yes, I know boats are not its main application.) 2) Annoying little things: the air filter takes effort to snap out and I was never able to screw on the pump drain hose retaining nut. Arrg! 3) Alorair written material (marketing and manuals) is grammatically horrendous. For an American company that sells its products in English-speaking countries like the UK and Australia, that is more than a minor typo or oversight. Customer service was helpful. After a few minutes, we determined that I wanted too much from their expensive dehumidifier. And now I need to return it at MY COST. These Alorair products are to be used in warm/hot weather, apparently. But donot depend on their poorly written marketing material to tell you that!

I purchased this product to de humidify my 2 car garage in Massachusetts. The garage humidity levels can vary dramatically, especially if I drive a snow covered car in the garage. The de humidifier is solid, well built, and works well to control off my humidity levels. Noise and vibration are not an issue. After a week of use I experienced a condensate pump issue. I called Alorair and had no problem getting a human to answer the phone. Customer support was very helpful and gave me the option of replacing the unit or sending me a replacement pump. I replaced the pump and the machine has been working flawlessly since. Kudos to Alorair customer support!
Like size and efficiency

I live the size and efficiency. Pumps the water right out from my crawlspace to above to the ground and lowers the humidity. Size is great. I bought 2 different brands for my crawlspace due to size. The only thing I do not like is that if this one isnot 100% exactly level, water drips out the front of it instead of going out the hose. I have an uneven crawlspace and now put a leveler on this one if I move it for any reason. An eyeball looks level wonot work.

I met a moisture problem in one of my crawl space that was causing mold to grow Until I got this unit ! Within a few days the moisture level dropped and it seems the problem was solved.

This time I looked around on Amazon and figured I would stick with the ALORAIR brand. So glad I did. This model is the latest I purchased and is very powerful, especially for the compact size. I got this to dehumidify our basement, and it works powerfully and quickly. It got the humidity down and managed faster than any other I have used. While it is nicely compact and attractive, it is also very sturdy, with a metal body construction. I had a question about using this model just after I bought it and emailed their customer service, which responded quickly, which is a plus.

I live in Louisiana. While I never have problems with temperature, window units do nothing about humidity, so even at a good temperature, my house was extremely muggy. As in "had to put my pillowcases in the dryer every night because they were damp" humid. I have no experience with dehumidifiers, so this may be just me, but this thing sucks water out of the air like the thing at the dentist sucks saliva out of your mouth. After running for several days, I can feel the difference in my house, and the house becomes dry and fresh. As for the noise level: yes, it makes noise, but I find it pretty quiet.
