does the purge only work if the line is dragging downhill?

I BOUGHT this dehumidifier, this massive, heavy beast, because it had a 'pump.' So far, it's just leaking out onto the vapor barrier of the crawl space, and the line has air bubbles in it that the pump isn't strong enough to push out the line???  What the heck?  This will be shipped back in a freaking hurry if this is not solved.  I'm not spending $900 for a machine that can't purge itself, that I have to constantly monitor, and that can't pump out an 'aquarium' tube of varying air bubbles.  This is NOT impressive.  AND, by the way, the app is still written in chinese.  ??? I had SUPER GROK interpret some of it from a screen shot/photo.  it's trying to force me to turn on LOCATION on my phone and ACCESS MY LOCATION??? None of china's business.  What the buggars, people?  NOT  a happy customer so far.  I'll give you three days to solve these problems.  otherwise, I'm demanding a return.
