Need a Recommendation

Back to List

Hi, When we bought our home, it had a SaniDry CX dehumidifier in 2 locations under the house. Each is good for 2200 sq ft. This is a 4-story home built into a hillside. Neither dehumidifier was working when we moved in. Using the internet I was able to revive both for the cost of a few capacitors and some refrigerant. But now one of them failed again, and it's a motor that's going to make repairing it too expensive. These are large spaces under the house, and the SaniDry CX did an excellent job of keeping the humidity at around 50%. These do not integrate into the air ducts, they sit on the ground and have an external pump to shoot the water out of the house. Ideally, I'd like one that has an internal pump. I also like to pump the dried air through a flexible duct away from the dehumidifier so it's not recycling air that's already been dehumidified. Which Alorair dehumidifier would make a suitable replacement?

Dear Michael,

Thank you for reaching out to AlorAir and for sharing the details about your dehumidifier needs. It's impressive that you were able to repair the previous units yourself! Based on your requirements for a dehumidifier with an internal pump and the ability to duct dried air away from the unit, I’d like to recommend three models from our lineup that would be excellent replacements for your SaniDry CX.

All three models are equipped with an auto-defrost function, ensuring reliable performance even in cooler crawlspace environments, and a built-in condensate pump for easy water removal.

Given your specific need to duct the dry air away, the Sentinel HDi90 or HDi100 would be the most suitable choices. The decision between them depends on the exact size of your space and your desired level of ducting flexibility.
