HDi65S - Conditioning Adjacent Space

I would like to keep the unit in one room and condition an adjacent room. The exhaust seems straight forward but I'm curious on the filter intake side, how to connect that to the conditioned space?

Am I understanding the dehumidifying process correctly? Humid air goes through filter intake side, the unit removes the humidity and exhuasts through the exhuast side?

Wouldn't I want the intake to also be connected to the conditioned room?
