Overview
1. How do dehumidifiers work?
The work of the Dehumidifiers is to extract air and packages into a heat exchanger which heats air and transforms it into vapor. It then makes the vapor to condense in the tube before it is directed to a draining duct.
2. What should I do when my dehumidifier refuses to work?
3. What can I do if the unit is producing loud noise when running?
First, ensure that the unit is placed on a firm flat ground. Secondly, it requires that you check the filter mesh and ensure that it is not jammed. If you notice that the filter mesh is jammed, remove and clean it.
4. Where can I find a list of error codes because I am getting some readout codes on my control panel?
Check the owner’s manual for error codes. You may also find one at www.alorair.com under manuals and product resources. For more inquiries, contact us at 888-990-7469.

8. What should be done before storing the dehumidifier in winter?
Ensure that you drain all the water from the unit and also confirm that the tube is well drained to prevent cracking. Not that the units are not weatherized and should not be placed outside in extreme temperatures and rain.
9. Where can I service my AlorAir product?

12. Can you kill coronavirus with UV-C light air scrubber?
More than 99.9% of seasonal coronaviruses present in airborne droplets were killed when exposed to a particular wavelength of ultraviolet light that is safe to use around humans, a new study at Columbia University Irving Medical Center has found.
13. What is a MERV rating?
The MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) is a test designed to reduce the confusion of an air filtration device’s performance by looking at the minimum or worst case scenario for a product’s performance. MERV tests an air filter’s efficiency on 3 size ranges of particles, large particles 3.0 – 10 microns, medium size particles 1.0 – 3.0 microns and small particles 0.30 – 1.0 micron. Two products may have the same MERV rating, however may differ in initial particle size efficiency, initial air resistance, air leakage, bypass air, service life and tested airflow. The standard requires the test to be conducted at 1200 CFM. Not all manufacturers test at 1200 CFM. A reduced airflow will allow the air filtration device to have a higher MERV rating. Since MERV does not look at performance over time, a product may have a lower MERV as it begins to filter particulate. MERV also uses test dust that contains carbon. As a result no Electronic Air Cleaner can be tested under the MERV. The carbon negates the electronic section of the air cleaner.
14. What is the most popular “size” zone control system?
Since every home is different, the number of zones in a home is typically determined by the floor plan and design of the home. Most homes are divided into 2 or 3 zones. Homes with more than one level may set up each level as a zone. Heating and cooling patterns vary from room to room throughout the day. This will determine which rooms should be combined based on maintaining the same temperature throughout the zone. Lifestyles which relates to when a room or rooms are occupied can determine which rooms should be combined into a zone. Rooms only used for entertaining may be on a separate zone from rooms used on a regular basis.
15. Why does the heating and cooling system fan continue to run after the thermostat stops calling?
If the zone thermostat is set to operate the heating and cooling system fan constantly, the system fan will continue to run at the end of a heating or cooling call. The AlorAir zoned comfort control system also has the ability to expel any remaining conditioned air into the living space at the end of the call by operating the heating and cooling system fan. This process is referred to as fan purge and typically last 1–2 minutes. Often times the heating and cooling system has a fan purge option as well. If using the system fan purge the AlorAir zoned comfort control system fan purge may be turned off. Your HVAC installer will know how to do this.
