We have two a/c system, one is in the attic. It gets pretty warm up there. We originally got this to use I am our crawl space or even in our garage, but we eventually decided to use it up in the attic. Hubby said it is fairly easy to install. Not too loud. Hopefully, this will help during hot summer days. We might get another one for our garage.

This was installed as an attic space exhaust fan. We have a detached two car garage, uninsulated, that gets pretty hot during the warmer months. In this scenario, the humidistat function is not primary, as we are using it primarily for airflow to clear the heated air. It moves air well, with an appropriate noise level for the volume of air. Since it is installed in a space not typically inhabited, we installed it with a switch so we can operate it when needed. Works very well, and is very solidly built.

I needed the fan for my small storage shed, it had a regular vent window but it was not cutting because it is very humid inside. The high humidity was causing cardboard boxes to get mold. The fan fit the existing vent cutout so installing was very easy, the fan includes mounting screws. For power I used a smart outdoor switch with extension chord. The smart switch protects the cable s power side and provides me with a programmable on schedule.
The fan is humidity controlled so it will vent until the humidity level is reached. The build of the fan is pretty good and it also has an IPX rating. Overall I like the vent, it seems to be helping with my humidity issue.

I am replacing the broken unit that is never worked in my house with the ALORAIR 260CFM Crawl Space Ventilator Fan, 6.7 Inch Basement Vent Fan with Humidistat & Thermostat. Initial impression is this thing is stout - and that is good. Everything about it appears to be made well, within tight tolerances, the metal is thicker than expected, the plastics are thicker than expected, the humidistat dial turns smooth, all edges are smooth and will not cut you, really there is nothing to dislike.
After installing I have checked it a few times and played with the humidistat. I have found it running, as it should, several times as well. It is not a quiet fan but not inappropriately loud either. One thing I thought was a little funny is the manual says you can trim the faceplate as needed but no longer than a certain size. I do not have calipers to check thickness, but I certainly do not have any tools that will cut metal like that.

I like that this 6.7" ALORAIR 260CFM Crawl Space Ventilator Fan is pretty lightweight. It has a 6 foot cord, so it does not need to be direct wired. The instructions are hard to understand, but trial and error wins for this old senior. I just needed a fan that can pull the hot air from my shed and help with high humidity. This is just the right size for my shed.

This unit is compact in size, 13" x 9" yet has a very powerful fan. One needs a 3-prong outlet near where it will be installed. This type of fan is only to pull the air from inside to outside. It also draws out humidity as long as it is the only opening (close all other basement windows). It has a manual knob so you can decide the setting. It will automatically turn off when the temperature outside drops, this was always when I would unplug it for the winter and place a board over it. You may need more than one depending on the size of the area.

I am actually using this to ventilate me shed. My vents are well positioned but were not getting enough air flow for cross ventilation. I have added this vent fan and it does a great job of moving the air through. The fan has a thermostat you can adjust so it is on at a certain temperature. It works well, it has a bit of noise but generally will not be someplace that will effect anyone. You do need an outlet within like 3 feet of the install.

I put this under my house to help the ventilation. This fan runs quiet for the power that it generates.
The 260 was a little smaller than my vent opening but I just closed up one side with some tar paper and then used metal tape to make it air tight so it would pull from under the house.
The humidity switch is pretty sensitive and shuts off when it hit the right humidity. You do have to tighten the screw on the end to get it to hold onto the post on the fan itself.
If I had it to do over I might have sized up just so it would have fit better but the amount of CFM this moves is sufficient for my house.
It did not take long to install it and probably took longer running a new outlet. I would recommend not putting this on a light circuit that has newer LEDs because they will slightly blink when this comes on. Works fine still though.
