Several reasons for waking up with a stuffy nose

Many people may not be sick and wake up with a stuffy nose in the morning. This condition is often called rhinitis.

According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), about 74% of people are exposed to between three and six allergens in the bedroom each night. When you kick your pet out of bed, puffy your pillow and duvet, even when you roll over, you’re sending new allergens into the air. In addition, common indoor allergens are listed below, and we also provide some solutions.

1.Dust mites

When you get up in the morning and sneeze, your eyes are itchy and bloodshot.

You may already have dust mites and mites in your home. Dust mites in the bedroom can be reduced by:

Wash your bedding in hot water once a week.

Keep your thermostat between 64 and 68 degrees because dust mites thrive in warm air.

Use a quilt made of anti-sensitive material.

Use an air filter.

Cut down on carpets and decorations.

Use a dehumidifier to remove excess moisture.

Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to clean the floor.

2.Pollen

If you’re allergic to pollen, it’s because it increases the swelling of your nasal mucus or tissue.

Pollen allergies are usually seasonal and can enter a room with open windows and air conditioning systems.

The ways to treat seasonal allergies are as follows:

Try to avoid going out when pollen levels are high.

Use an air filter to clean the air in your home.

Check with your doctor ahead of time and have prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) allergy medications on hand.

You can also try acupuncture, which can relieve symptoms by treating the head and neck.

Try spirulina to reduce allergy symptoms.

Relieve rhinitis symptoms with the use of beehive herb.

3.Mold

Mold is another major allergen. The American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology recommends that people check the following places to see if mold has developed.

The bathroom

The basement

The drain

The trash

The refrigerator drip pan

Any leaks or wet surfaces

If you are allergic to mold, ask a professional to clean it up for you.

4.Pet dander

Most families in America have pets. If you share a room with your pet at night, people prone to allergies may develop rhinitis and nasal congestion the next day.

Here are some ways to help ease these symptoms:

Wash your pet with anti-allergy shampoo.

Take the cat litter and get out of your room.

Choose a hard floor to prevent pet dander from falling into the carpet.
