I was very shocked by the performance of this dehumidifier. No application is needed, just plug in the power source, set the required relative humidity, and you can use it normally. This machine is very quiet and I have connected the drain hose that comes with the dehumidifier. Can’t really say it's energy-efficient, because we only have a few weeks, but it is Energy Star certified, so I think it can help us save electricity bills.

We have a large basement, half-completed and half stored. This year, we ran into the trouble of surface mold in the storage area, and it took hours of labor to scrub everything clean. I installed this dehumidifier and set the humidity to 45-the device runs almost continuously and keeps the overall humidity of the basement at about 50%, which is ideal. A lot of water was collected within a few days after the dehumidifier was installed. With so much water, it is no wonder that we have surface mold. highly recommended!

Hi Sophia! Sorry for your sleeping problem, and don't worry that product has a really good feature of silent operation. The sentinel HDi90 produces low noise levels while operational hence will not affect your comfort levels.
It disposes of both. The point of the unit is to remove the humidity from closed space by condensation on the coils which then drops/drains into the pan & then is pumped thru the drain hose upward if necessary. There is no condensation on or from the compressor. It just pressurized the gas into the coils which expands cooling the coils which condenses the warmer, moisture-laden air that blown over the coils.
