Recently, my 1,200 square feet of crawl space flooded due to heavy rain and poorly positioned downspouts. First, I previously purchased a Sentinel HDi-120 in my basement because of the exceedingly high humidity. It has been working great, which drew me back to the ALORAIR products for this unit, the Storm LGR Extreme 180 PPD, as I looked for a unit that I require to move around to various areas.
I have been using a few weeks, and so far, I am more than satisfied with this unit. I highly recommend the unit based on its ability to drawdown humidity to ~50% from close to ~80%, and on the complementing, the units noticeably quiet, portability, its ability to lift collected water up and out of the space, and the ability to control things remotely (detached garage) with the app. Suppose you are looking for an excellent, portable, quiet unit, and with the convenience of monitoring and remote controlling dehumidifier, ALORAIR is a quality company. In that case, you will be happy with this choice.

The WiFi app control is the most persuasive reason for buying the ALORAIR Storm Extreme WiFi dehumidifier because I wanted a WiFi access function. I live on a hill, and thunderstorms always take out appliances every year. I tried to shut it off remotely if I am away and a storm is coming. The shutdown allows the compressor to turn off gracefully. I also have a remote house lighting system. I have that system switch the power off after the dehumidifier once it has shut itself down. It works well. The dehumidifier remembers its settings at power off, so it wakes up OK when power is reapplied.

I run ALORAIR Storm Extreme WiFi Control dehumidifier through the basement.
Summarize the experience of using: first, the noise level is relatively quiet when the unit is running, and it's an energy-saving product. It uses less power than my previous dehumidifier. In addition, the unit can handle a much larger volume. What's more, the pump works well. On the first attempt, seasonal pump cleaning looks time-consuming. It's actually not bad after the first time. Probably less than 30 minutes once you have done it once. Moreover, the filter of this unit is easy to access and replace or clean.

My basement is 3000 sq ft and is 'L' shaped. Had 5 'consumer' dehumidifiers running at the same time spread out. Because of its shape, it's hard to move air around, so I purchased one ALORAIR Storm Extreme WiFi. It was able with one other consumer dehumidifier to handle the basement. I just bought another Storm model. The two are now spaced, so they handle the entire basement. It works well, I am pretty happy. Easy to use once WiFi is set up. A model without WIFi should be no more difficult than any other dehumidifier. It is a pump system, so you do need a drain available.

I just moved into a new house. The house is about a month old. I had a generator installed and found out that there is water everywhere underneath the house. VA summers are scorching and humid. For the life of me, I can't figure out why they don't change the code in VA and quit using those stupid vents. They don't work in this climate, and I am using this in my crawl space. I had condensation on everything (I mean everything). When crawling around, it felt like it was sprinkling underneath my house. There were little puddles of water all over the place, with mold starting to grow. I decided to drop this unit in and ran the hose outside in one of the vents. My RH% was at 77% before I started, and the air was super cool and heavy. I turned it on Saturday afternoon. It is now Monday morning, and I am down to 58%, so it's working like a champ. I am sure in the next 24 hours, and it will be down to 50%.
