HD55 short cycling

Back to List

We have had the HD 55 installed and running for a week in a short extension cord. The set point is set at 55 and the unit was running between 57-58 and 52-51 turning on and off about every 6-7 hours. All seemed good until the electrician was here two days ago and installed a permanent plug for the unit. I went down powered it off and waited for the fan to stop then plugged it into it new receptacle. Turned it back on checked it still said 55 and left. The unit now is running between 52 and 49 and turning on and off every 15 minutes. This does not seem right and will definitely effect my power bill if it continues this way. Why has this changed? See attached photos from my remote sensing device showing the issue. This unit is one week old.

Hi Michael,

Can u provide the dateplate so that we can see the version of the main control......

I have sent all the information now to your support team and the new main control board is being sent to me for replacement.  I'll update this once it is installed.  I specifically bought this unit for a number of reasons and one being that it automatically comes back on to its settings after a power outage. This does make me a bit worried about the longevity of the Alorair brand.

So I installed the new main board as requested from the manufacturer and there has been no change to the short cycling. They are now sending a new humidity sensor to be changed out. They have also requested me to operate the unit in continuous mode to see if it remains running.
I will post an update once complete.
my initial thoughts are this does sound like an awful lot of work for a brand new unit.
