Humidity reading always seems too high, dehumidifier runs too often

Back to List

Hello,

I have been using my HD55P for the past three months or so to keep my basement humidity at a reasonable level. The problem I've encountered is that the hygrometer in my dehumifier always shows a relative humidity that is 10-15% higher than what I really think it is. This results in my dehumidifier running much more often than needed, using a bunch of electricity.

I've attached a photo of my dehumifier and it's humidity reading, along the with the reading of two portable humidity sensors. You can see that there is a difference of 14-15% relative humidity between the dehumidifier and the portable sensors. You can also see that the inlet and outake of the dehumidifer is clear, so I doubt that is the problem.

Do I have a faulty humidity sensor in my dehumidifer? Or is there some other problem? Thank you for your help in advance.

Answers

Hi William, please place your hygrometer near the humidity sensor of the dehumidifier (at the bottom of the filter side) and do the comparison test again. If there is still a difference in the results, please contact our customer service to replace the humidity sensor for you.
