Sentinel HD35P Question

Back to List

My unit -HP 35P (70 pints) developed a leak-water coming out all corners (less than a yr old).  There is a water pan underneath and I was notified of the leak via a leak sensor.

Called company to determine if a float switch installed on the pan (external) can be wired up to shut the unit off in case of a future leak.  The issue was the drain line was clogged at the end point, now fixed. I was told that the unit has an internal float switch already in place which I was not aware of, nor do I see in the manual.

I have 3 questions:

1. Can you confirm that this is the case (internal float switch present in this unit)?

2. Does the fact the unit was still running while leaking suggest the switch was not working and needs replacement? If present, how is this internat switch supposed to work or what does it do?

3. Is there a way to wire external float switch in a pan the dehum sits on as additional safety that would shut off unit?

Thanks.

Hello Wanda

There are two possible scenarios:

1.Internal leakage of the unit prevents the float switch’s float from reaching the trigger threshold;The float switch itself is malfunctioning.

2.Regarding the external float switch: It can be connected externally at interfaces A5 and A6 (this port is in a normally open state, so the external float switch must be a normally open type).

I hope my reply can help you solve your problem.
