Storm LGR 1250, how to resolve E4?

Back to List

I bought a Storm LGR 1250 a couple of months ago, used and probably quite out of warranty. It worked well for a few days, then began to fail with E4, which has to do with water level.  I went inside, looked at things, and replaced the float switch since that is a recommended fix for this problem. It didn't change anything.

Typical scenario: power up, the initial drain cycle works fine, it runs for 40 minutes or so. Then it gets E4 and nothing but power cycling will make it happy again. But I tested again today, interesting result: it went through several drain cycles running for at least two hours, and then it got stuck with E4.  So the pump and the new float switch really, truly work.  Something else must be failing.

Is this a well-known issue? Any likely solutions?

Dear Ken Brooks,

Thank you for reaching out to Alorair and we apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with your Storm LGR 1250 dehumidifier.

The E4 error code on the Storm LGR 1250 typically indicates an issue with the water drainage system, often related to the water pump. You can find more details about error codes in the user manual for your model here: https://www.alorair.com/pdf_files/product_guides/108/Alorair-Storm-SLGR-1250X-User-Manual--20230612.pdf

Based on your description—that you have already replaced the float switch and the unit runs for a significant period before faulting—it suggests the pump and new switch are initially functional but may be failing intermittently or there could be another underlying issue.

While our initial suspicion is that the water pump may need replacement, we highly recommend that you forward all these details to our dedicated technical support team for a more precise diagnosis. Please send your full account, the steps you've already taken, and any other relevant information to our customer service email: [email protected]. They will provide you with expert guidance and a definitive solution.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for your patience.

Best regards,
Alorair Team
