Are You Knowledgeable In Using A Humidifier Correctly?

1. Power Source

Equipping the humidifier with a special power source is crucial.  The power supply’s voltage should be taken note of to ensure that it meets a machine’s standard requirements (220v or 380v). A socket should never be used along with the other devices, and to avoid short-circuit, the power supply must be kept distant from water.

2. Location

A dehumidifier must be positioned in a place where the air is circulating freely.  The unit should not be kept close to huge obstacles that affect the air circulation. It should be placed at least 30cm away from other items.

3. Thermal Atmosphere

A dehumidifier must be kept far from any source of heat as it will only raise the temperature.  In case the environment temperature exceeds 40℃, the system inner pressure is bound to intensify, causing the compressor to overload. Consequently, the circuit will be cut off by the overload protector, thus protecting the compressor. As such, the compressor will cease to operate.  A dehumidifier will work best at a temperature of between 15 ℃ and 40 ℃.  The humidity value should be set at more than 40%. A humidity level of less than 30% will result in the air being extremely dry, hence this will cause discomfort to people.

4. Transport

When a dehumidifier is being moved and transported, the machine’s gradient should not exceed 45 degrees. It should be kept upright because handling it in any other manner is strictly forbidden. Placing it conversely will result in the refrigerant flowing back and innerspring decoupling. Consequently, there will be a loud noise, hence the machine will malfunction.  Too much vibration should be avoided as it will crack the pipeline and damage the machine. After the humidifier has been relocated, it should be kept at a place for 4 to 6 hours after which it can start to operate.

5. Sealing

Actually, a dehumidifier ought to be used only in a closed place, with doors and windows shut. Also, any devices producing moisture must be taken away since dehumidifier eliminates humidity subject to the internal air circulation.  A poor sealing will impact on the dehumidification outcome, lengthen the dehumidifier’s working period and upsurge energy use.

6. Fault Noise

Should metal impact noise be detected as work goes on, then you need to stop and check.  You should particularly find out if the centrifugal blades plus the volute have stopped working or the fasteners are loose.  Adding lubrication oil on to the bearing from the fan motor after every six months is actually better.

7. Drainage

In case a domestic dehumidifier that has a water tank is filled with water, you should remove the tank horizontally.  You will need to unplug the power cable before pouring the water inside the tank if you want to carry the body in the process.  The drainage height of industrial or commercial dehumidifier must not surpass the drainage hose of the dehumidifier, or else it will result in water back-flow, hence seriously damaging the machine.

8. Filter

Clean the filter on a regular basis. In case the environment has a high dust content, and the dehumidifier is used frequently to maintain the machine’s efficiency and lifetime, then you should clean the humidifier once every week. You will only need clean water with a temperature of less than 40℃ to clean the filter if it is only covered with dust, but you can clean them using detergent in case they contain oil.  You can put the filter back into the machine once it dries.  Always use a wet cloth to gently wipe the machine. This is something worth taking note of.  The machine should not be directly cleaned with water as it will result in electronic gadget’s insulation directly.  To eliminate the stain on the surface of the machine, you may use soapy water. Neither gasoline, solvents nor insecticide should be used in cleaning the machine because they will either peel off the paint or tarnish the surface color. Touching the machine’s internal structure with a thin rod of a wire is dangerous because it will result in either operation failure or hazard.

9. Condenser & Evaporator

To ensure that the air inlet plus outlet are not blocked, the condenser and evaporator must be cleaned often. The water collected on the evaporator will easily condense in an environmental temperature under 15℃., effectively weakening the dehumidification outcome.

10. Storage

When not being used for an extended period of time, the dehumidifier should be unplugged and cleaned. The machine may be harmed by volatile oils, as well as diluents or detergents, hence it is advisable not to use them. To ensure that there is no bacterial growth, water should be poured away from the tank.

11. Disassembly

A dehumidifier has a digital microcomputer, hence it’s controlling mechanisms and parts are very precise. This is why the unit should never be dissembled by non-professional personnel. The dehumidifier’s service life can be reduced by users who regularly change functions.
