Puddle beneath HDi65 dehumidifier

I just purchased a new HDi65 and placed it in a damp basement last night. I routed the pump drain line to the outside of the house (10' elevation) and plugged the gravity drain outlet. This morning there is definitely a discharge of water at the end of the pump line but also a puddle of water beneath the unit. Testing the pump drain shows it is moving water. How do I eliminate the puddle beneath the unit?
